As the World Solar Challenge celebrated its 20th year in 2007, we were reminded that sustainable transport has been on the agenda for quite a while. The solar cars raced from Darwin to Adelaide inspiring us with technologies that may become mainstream in the future, but the Greenfleet Technology Class showcased the capabilities of fuel-efficient and low-carbon technologies, with current model cars and experimental vehicles.
Setting out from Darwin on 21 October 2007, the Greenfleet Class enjoyed overnight stays in Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, Yulara (Uluru), Coober Pedy and Port Augusta before arriving in Adelaide on 28 October.
Find out how the vehicles in the Greenfleet Technology Class performed in our media release archive.
