Carbon offset

Planting 17,115* trees over a five year period to offset 4,587 tonnes of CO₂-e

ANZ supports Greenfleet to help tackle climate change.

ANZ's Merchant Services team has funded the establishment of a forest of over 17,000* trees through Greenfleet to offset greenhouse gas emissions from the Merchant Facilities used by ANZ merchant customers Australia-wide.

ANZ's support of Greenfleet is part of our commitment to improving our environmental performance and playing our part to tackle the global challenge of climate change.

* Note:  This number of trees is a reasonable estimate of the number of trees required to be initially planted to sequester the total quantity of carbon purchased and takes into account that not all trees initially planted will survive due to the natural survival rate of trees.  Accordingly, trees that do not survive following initial plantation may not necessarily be replanted.

Greenfleet's commitment to recapture carbon on behalf of our supporters involves the management of native forests across all our planting sites. Greenfleet's forest pool is forecast to meet its overall carbon commitments to supporters.
