EarthCheck is the world's leading environmental management system, used by the travel and tourism industry for certification and benchmarking purposes.

More than 1,100 respected travel brands in over 65 countries trust EarthCheck to measure, monitor and manage their impact on host communities and destinations. Among others, EarthCheck is trusted by the InterContinental Hotels Group, Taj Hotels, Sandals, Langham Hotels International, Banyan Tree, and ACCOR.

EarthCheck's science-based software enables triple bottom line reporting and lets organisations benchmark their performance against that of their peers.  EarthCheck tools and training make it cost effective and simple to capacity build, lessen reliance on external resources, and ensure daily operations are carried out in line with industry best practice standards.

Independently verified by a network of third party auditors, EarthCheck exceeds the requirements of most in-house or national accreditation schemes and complieswith the Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change (IPCC) Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Greenhouse Gas Protocol, and the International Organisation for Standardization (ISO) 14064 range of standards for greenhouse gas accounting.

EarthCheck is also working with Greenfleet to help introduce sustainable transport elements to the EarthCheck program.

History:

The EarthCheck Program was developed by the Australian government-funded Sustainable Tourism Cooperative Research Centre (STCRC). EarthCheck science was previously used to underpin brands such as Green Globe, through its wholly owned subsidiary Green Globe Asia Pacific, which still has an exclusive license to certify under the Green Globe brand.

Today, the EarthCheck Program is a standalone product, independent of Green Globe and is exclusively owned by EC3 Global. For more information, go to: www.earthcheck.org
