Flight and fuel offset
446 tonnes of CO2-e
The Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC), established in 1918, represents over 5,000 small and medium businesses in the automotive sector in Victoria.
In representing this industry sector, VACC recognises that automobiles contribute significantly to CO2 emissions. It is VACC's considered view that governments, corporations, organisations and individuals have a duty to act decisively to avert or reduce the negative economic, social and environmental consequences from rising carbon levels in the atmosphere.
As the peak automotive body in Victoria, VACC believes it has a responsibility to show leadership in this matter and, accordingly, has teamed with Greenfleet to offset the carbon emissions from its company and staff vehicles and air travel (446.2 tonnes CO2-e), by planting 1,663 trees.
VACC, through its internal communications and promotional activity, is also encouraging its staff and VACC members to participate in this important initiative.
