Fuel offset
1,972 tonnes of CO2-e
When travellers choose to ride on SkyBus between Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport and the city, they leave a smaller carbon footprint.
That's because as part of our support of Greenfleet, we have helped Greenfleet to plant close to 25,000 trees since 2004 to offset carbon emissions from our bus fleet's fuel consumption.
As Melbourne's official airport-to-city public transport service, we move more than
2 million passengers every year. Our express buses make an average of more than 210 trips daily. They run 24/7 and depart every 10 minutes during the day.
With transport being a growing source of greenhouse gas emissions, we believe it's important to reduce our 'ecological footprint' while continuing to provide a fast, reliable and frequent service.
Consequently, our buses feature low-emission engines and we're moving down the path of implementing a broader sustainability program to complement our fuel offset. Our continued partnership with Greenfleet is an important part of that process.
SkyBus is definitely a greener way to travel.
