Strathfield Council is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions associated with the running of its fleet through a range of strategies.  Sourcing alternative fuels such as bio-diesel, reducing the overall size of its fleet, purchasing fuel efficient vehicles, ensuring that all vehicles and plant equipment are serviced regularly and continued monitoring, have ensured that Strathfield Council has been able to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from its fleet whilst providing improved services to a growing community.

To compliment these actions, Strathfield Council offsets the remaining annual emissions from all fleet and plant equipment with Greenfleet.  The multifaceted environmental benefits of Greenfleet's revegetation projects mean that Council can offset emissions whilst contributing to increased biodiversity, habitat and linkage corridors, critical to Australian native flora and fauna.
