Victoria University's Environment Management Plan (EMP) supports the university's Environmental Charter by providing a framework to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, as well as a means for improving the university's environmental performance and minimising the adverse environmental effects of its activities.

In the area of transport, the EMP encourages the use of sustainable transport modes by staff and students. Also, when selecting vehicles for the University fleet, a vehicle's fuel efficiency and embodied energy are considered and then calculated CO₂ emissions are offset.
