Today the Senate approved legislation that will ensure at least 20% of Australia's stationary energy will be generated from renewable sources.
We hope this commitment will drive investment in renewables to allow clean energy sources to compete financially with cheaper, emissions-intensive energy sources.
One unfortunate downside to the legislation is that any additional costs will be borne by end-users, such as households and small business. This means that reducing your energy consumption at home and at work is not only good for greenhouse gas emissions, but also your energy bills.
