Carbon Farming Initiative consultation

Draft guidelines for the federal government's Carbon Farming Initiative have been released, with responses due 21 January.  This is likely to fill the void where Greenhouse Friendly™ once stood.

Greenfleet is encouraged by the inclusion of a statement specifying that... "arrangements would need to be made to avoid double counting."  This is an issue that has concerned Greenfleet and our supporters, and relates to the potential double counting of carbon reductions and offsets from the voluntary market.

We are looking over the scheme design in detail and will provide a submission to the Department of Climate Change, to ensure the best outcomes for Greenfleet supporters, the environment and the broader community.
