A new report released by the National Centre for Sustainability reveals that organisational culture appears to be the primary driver for small to medium enterprises (SMEs) to quantify their carbon footprint.
The research found that 71% of businesses who developed an emissions inventory identified opportunitiess for cost savings - however only 11% of businesses had followed through with emission reduction initiatives.
This research shows that there is a significant incentive for businesses to tackle greenhouse gas emissions regardless of the political compromises of emissions trading schemes and international agreements.
If it can save you money and produce good environmental outcomes, why wouldn't you take action to measure and reduce your carbon footprint?
