In an historic vote today, Australia's Senate passed the 18 bills necessary to introduce a carbon price into Australia from next year.
This is a monumental step in the fight against climate change - introducing a price on carbon means that products and services that do more damage to the climate will cost more, and those that are better for the environment will cost less.
Businesses and households will do more to reduce their impact on the environment, because it will also save them money - while technologies and products that are already better for the environment will be more competitively placed in the market.
Greenfleet welcomes today's news and looks forward to a more sustainable future with the introduction of this legislation.
However, we want to remind everyone that transport fuel is not covered under the legislation for many industries and for households - so remember to continue offsetting your emissions to do your bit.
