Greenfleet's supporters

We would like to acknowledge and thank the thousands of households, businesses and organisations who have committed to make a difference for the environment by offsetting their emissions. Over 370 organisations are currently taking practical climate action by contributing to Greenfleet through offsetting, direct donations, workplace giving, promotional offers or pro-bono services.

Find below a list of our supporters, sorted according to their level of support:

  • Eucalypt supporters are the organisations who annually offset over 1,600 tonnes of CO2-e.
  • Wattle supporters are the organisations who annually offset between 700 and 1,600 tonnes of CO2-e.
  • Banksia supporters are the organisations who annually offset between 300 and 700 tonnes of CO2-e.
  • Grevillea supporters are the organisation who annually offset up to 300 tonnes of CO2-e. Whilst we could not list them all on our website, we still want to say a big THANK-YOU for their amazing support.

10,282 tonnes CO2-e.

The City of Boroondara recognises that climate change is a serious problem facing our community. Council’s Our Low Carbon Future Strategy, released in 2009 sets a target to reduce its corporate greenhouse gas emissions by 30 — 40% below 2007/08 levels by 2020. The commitment to action was reaffirmed in an Action Plan Update released in 2012. Council has introduced many initiatives to reduce greenhouse emissions while prioritising actions which reduce electricity, natural gas and vehicle fuel use. Vehicles are essential for delivery of services by the City of Boroondara and offsetting residual vehicle emissions is an important part of achieving emissions reductions. Since 2004/05 Council vehicle offsets through Greenfleet have resulted in over 28,600 trees* being planted. Currently, Council offsets about 860 tonnes CO2-e per annum through Greenfleet, which accounts for the emissions from Council’s small vehicle fleet. Vegetation planting through this program also assists in the restoration of biodiversity. The City of Boroondara is very proud of these achievements, and hopes to lead by example to encourage our community to help decrease emissions. For more information about the City of Boroondara please visit our website at * This number of trees is a reasonable estimate of the number of trees required to be initially planted to sequester the total quantity of carbon purchased and takes into account that not all trees initially planted will survive due to the natural survival rate of trees. Accordingly, trees that do not survive following initial plantation may not necessarily be replanted. Greenfleet's commitment to recapture carbon on behalf of our supporters involves the management of native forests across all our planting sites. Greenfleet’s forest pool is forecast to meet its overall carbon commitments to supporters.
