Sustaining hope: our response to COVID-19

While much of Australia remains in lockdown, at Greenfleet we're continuing to grow forests and climate hope with additional safety measures in place.

With some minor changes, the physically distanced nature of our forestry work allows us to continue our native reforestation efforts. We have now commenced 2020 planting projects across Victoria, NSW and Queensland.

The increased rain across many of these regions has also helped progress the preparation and planting of many of our sites. This is one of the best Autumns we have had in many years and after the recent summer and bushfire season it is a welcomed relief. Restoring ecosystems across Australia has never been more urgent.

Through all of this, we are taking strict precautions to protect our teams and the regional communities they are working in. To ensure our work can be continued safely, planting teams are working in smaller groups than normal to allow for physical distancing.

Greenfleet staff commenced working remotely from Monday 16 March. Despite this transition to remote working, you shouldn’t have noticed any changes to the way we operate. We have implemented plans to ensure that we continue unimpeded.

We are cautiously anticipating that a lot will continue to change in the short term. However, having hope for our climate, and for the world in which we live remains vital.

Please look after yourselves and your loved ones during this unprecedented time. We are thinking about all our supporters and hope that you and those close to you are safe and well. If there is anything we can do to help you feel more connected to us please reach out – we’d love to hear from you.

Let’s keep growing hope. We are all in this together.
