Recently, the world watched as the Artemis II mission flew around the moon, looking back on our precious Earth. Seeing Earth from this perspective and scale reminds us of the beauty and fragility of a planet we must protect. It also brings even more weight to Earth Day this year.
Protecting our planet for nearly 30 years, Greenfleet sees Earth Day as a time to celebrate the impact we have made and acknowledge the work still ahead.
Today, and every day, we’re thankful for all the supporters that have helped us plant over 11.7 million native trees to create 580 forests. We look forward to welcoming new supporters that also want to help protect our climate, wildlife, and planet.
What Is Earth Day?
Celebrated annually on April 22, Earth Day encourages us to pause and reflect on our shared responsibility to care for the planet.
Beginning with US protests against pollution, deforestation, and wildlife extinction in 1970, Earth Day has since grown into an international movement. The day’s ongoing theme is Our Power Our Planet, encouraging people worldwide to champion initiatives for a more sustainable planet.
Coincidently, April 22 also signifies the signing of the Paris Agreement, a legally binding international treaty on climate change, including a global goal to hold the average temperature increase to well below 2°C. Global temperatures now demonstrate how important it is that we act against climate change.
Protecting Our Earth Through Native Reforestation
Forests are the lungs of our Earth, and their benefits are vast and far reaching. By planting, monitoring, and protecting native forests, Greenfleet is committed to delivering positive environmental impacts that will be felt for generations to come.

Restoring Nature
Read more about our biodiversity workAt each of our native reforestation projects, Greenfleet sources and plants local, native species to restore the ecosystems that existed prior to historic land clearing. By planting locally native species, Greenfleet is restoring biodiversity and growing resilient forests that support healthy ecosystems and wildlife.
-
Growing Wildlife Habitat

Removing Carbon
Read more about how we restore our forestsReducing emissions is essential, and for those you cannot avoid, restoring forests with Greenfleet is a meaningful way to take climate action. By restoring biodiverse native forests, Greenfleet is removing carbon and protecting our Earth, on behalf of individuals and organisations looking to make positive climate impact.

Improving Air, Soil and Water
Read more about climate changeClimate change and deforestation threaten air, soil and water quality. Greenfleet forests help counter these impacts by absorbing carbon, improving soil health, and protecting waterways. Importantly, our forests are legally protected for up to 100 years, so these positive impacts are sustainable and long-term.
While celebrating Earth Day this year, remember there are steps we can all take to protect our planet. Today, and always, we celebrate our supporters for taking authentic action with us and look forward to restoring our forests into the future.
Together we can grow our forests, restore nature, and grow climate hope.
