Life’s momentous occasions, achievements or milestones hold special meaning for each of us, so we often want to acknowledge them in a significant way. From birthdays or anniversaries to remembering the life of someone we love, many of life’s moments call for celebration.

So, how do you pay tribute to these important moments? And what if you could do it in a way that leaves a legacy?

We are excited to introduce Milestone Forest - a way for you to grow a native forest and pay tribute to momentous occasions in your life and the lives of those you care about.

From $2,000, your contribution will revegetate a significant area at Pearsons Block in Central Victoria. Protected for 100 years, Greenfleet will also keep you updated on progress as these trees grow into a thriving and resilient forest.

This project will restore the native ecosystem in the area and increase overall biodiversity and resilience. Some of the species endemic to this region include Yellow Box (Eucalyptus melliodora), Varnish Wattle (Acacia verniciflua) and Sweet Bursaria (Bursaria spinosa).

Restoration of this ecosystem will create habitat for the local wildlife species, playing a vital role in reconnecting parts of the Wychitella Biolink. Some of the species known to the area are Lace monitors, Quolls and the vulnerable Mallee Fowl. Other native and endangered bird species can also be found, including Shy Heathwrens and Inland Thornbills.

Milestone Forests are a timely addition to what Greenfleet can offer our supporters. In 2020, we have all redefined how we connect with our loved ones and how we acknowledge events usually celebrated in person. The vast impacts of COVID-19 have changed many things about our day-to-day lives and have magnified our desire to connect with each other.

This year has also increased our appreciation of the outdoors and nature. Greenfleet has been on a mission to protect our climate by restoring forests for more than 23 years and this is your opportunity to join us in an incredibly impactful way.

With the importance of taking climate action and protecting the Australian Landscape, planting a Milestone Forest is a sustainable and long-lasting way to celebrate the significant moments in your life.
