About us

Greenfleet is a leading not-for-profit environmental organisation on a mission to protect our climate by restoring our forests.

We plant native biodiverse forests to capture carbon emissions on behalf of our supporters and help fight the impacts of climate change.

Since 1997, we have planted 10 million trees in over 500 forests across Australia and New Zealand.  These forests will capture more than 3.9 million tonnes of CO2-e over their lifetime.

Our forests provide critical habitat for our native species. In 2021, we planted more than 120 hectares of protected habitat for our koalas and this is particularly important as koalas have recently been reclassified to endangered in New South Wales, ACT and Queensland.

We ensure that our forests are protected for up to 100 years so that they can grow to their full potential and have a long-term, positive impact on our climate and planet.

In 2022, Greenfleet celebrates 25 years of fighting the impacts of climate change and we are proud to be growing our forests and growing climate hope.

By offsetting your carbon emissions or donating to Greenfleet, you are taking practical climate action.

How is Greenfleet funded?

Greenfleet is fully funded by supporters, like you, that donate and offset their emissions.

When you offset your emissions, you are directly supporting the restoration of native forests that will grow to capture your emissions over their lifetime. While this helps minimise your own carbon footprint, your support also has wide-reaching benefits for the environment as a whole.

Climate Active Certification

In 2020, Greenfleet achieved formal Climate Active Certification, verifying that all of our operations have resulted in net zero emissions.

What’s happening at Greenfleet right now?

In 2022, we are continuing to take climate action with upcoming reforestation projects in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and New Zealand.

  • We are reconnecting and extending habitat for koalas across Victoria, New South Wales and South East Queensland. This work is even more critical with the species now classified as endangered across a number of Australian states.
  • We are working with the Dja Dja Wurrung people in Central Victoria restoring native ecosystems and building habitat for endangered bird species.
  • We are continuing our work north of Auckland in New Zealand with a reforestation project that is helping to protect threatened species of flora and fauna.
  • After signing an Indigenous Land Use Agreement with Kabi Kabi people in the Sunshine Coast region of Queensland, this year we will be working with them to revegetate land previously used for pine plantation in the Noosa Hinterland.

By planting native forests now, we are helping pave the way for a healthier planet for generations to come.

Thank you for supporting the work that Greenfleet does and for taking critical climate action with us. Together, we are growing our forests and climate hope.
